I ran out of gas and coasted into a station. A guy put 3 gallons of gas in, but the car still wouldn't start. The guy helping me thought it might be the fuel pump. Someone else thought it was caused by a vacuum wince I ran out of gas. Does this make any sense?

The fuel pump sounds right the vapor lock doesn't if u want to test the vapor lock loosen the cap I doubt it will start.try this get a Hammer turn it sideways crawl under the back of the car and while someone is cranking the car to start it tap the middle of the gas tank with the hammer if it starts then u have a bad fuel pump.let me know what u find.
