2006 Saturn Ion fAILURE DUE TO BATTERY DRAINED TO 0.1 v
Transmission problem
2006 Saturn Ion 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 24000 miles
Could a battery being drained to 0.1 volts (parking lights left on), then installing new battery cause a transmission problrm? Problem being -- xmission not shifting up and check engine light being on. Check light off before battery drain, car pulled (in tow mode) behind motor home approx 1 mile, battery replaced then check light on.

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on

CAR IS AT TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP. WAITING FOR DIAGONISTIC RESULTS NOW.

Would towing (in tow mode behind motor home) with a dead battery cause transmission damage?

If its in the tow mode there's shouldn't be a problem-dead battery will cause the computer to lose ist memory could be the transmission has to relearn itself
