2004 Saturn Ion 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 72000 miles
When i turn my engine on there is a constant clicking noise. I was at a red light and the car engine shut off. The only way it would stay on is if i held down the gas. When i give it more gas the clicking noise becomes more rapid. Is this the battery or alternator? If so how would i check to see which one it is?

I suspect both battery and alternator, you cant be sure till both are checked,.
