Air Conditioning problem
2003 Saturn Ion 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

LOUD SQUEEKING WHEN AIR COND. IS ON AND CAR IS IN REVERSE. When I put car in drive and step on the gas the noise goes away. The air Cond. works good, cool air. Today my car started to overhead slightly.
Is there an AC belt that is loose. or is it the drive belt?
How much would it cost to repair.

Yes it is coming from the belt area. Is there an AC belt and a alternator belt? Car starting to overheat, there is sufficient coolant.

It's a short belt and it run's your a/c and alternator sound's like you probably have a weak belt tenisor. How do you know your car is overheating? How high is the temp gauge getting? Can you ever hear the cooling fan kick on?If so what does the temp gauge read when it kick's on?

When driving without AC on the car does not overheat.
When AC is on the temp gauge rises past the 3/4 mark. I do not hear the fan coming on.

Go to a auto part's store like auto zone and have them scan your car for code's let me know if you have any.It sound's like your cooling fan isn't coming on.If you had one of those temp gun's that would really help to see if the fan was coming on at the correct temp.Let me know what you find.
