I am needing to change the oil on a 4 cyl 2009 Saturn Aura. When I purchased the oil filter I noticed it was not the standard oil filter. It is just the filter element. I was wondering if there was any information on the internet on how to chang the filter before I started.

Yes you are correct, they have changed the design of some of the oil filters. If you stand in front of your car, open the hood, and look slightly to the right side of the front of the engine, (between the engine and trans) you'll see a black cap. It's a little undernieth the black intake manifold, which is tubeular. The cap incorperates a large nut on top. Just unsrew the cap with a wrench or socket and the filter will be attached to the cap when you pull it up. You have to pull the old one off which will snap off, make sure you snap the new one on. Re-install the cap and filter, and tighten to 16 lb/ft. Or untill the cap is fully seated.
