I replaced the battery last year, I've noticed that there is blue stuff around the terminal. What is that and why is it happening and what do I need to do?

That is called corrosion. It accumulates due to the amount of currents running through the metal terminals from the battery. This is nothing to be alarmed about. You need to use a terminal cleaner wire brush to clean the corrosion off. Be sure to wear rubber gloves and DO NOT let the corrosion touch your skin, especially eyes mouth etc. Once clean, use battery terminal grease (found at any auto part store) to lubricate the battery terminals. This prevents the build-up of the corrosion.
