2002 SAAB 9-5 Repair Question

2002 Saab 9-5 6 cyl

the alarm on the car went off the other day.i reset it.got in the car drove across the parking lot went into another store. came out ,the cfar will crank and not kick over. is this a problem with the alarm and how can i fix it?

your alarm siren may by going bad ,this unit has a 10 year life battery installed ,which at time will go bad earlier than 10 year ,but that is not your starting problem ,if u turn the key & did not hear engine turning over ,u have a neutral position switch going bad ,this module is on top of the transmission the gear shifter cable is connected to it, looking from top in engine bay under battery tray ,if the car cranks but will not start then u have crankshaft position sensor problem
