Hi i just bought a 1999 saab 9-5 se v6 turbo. The man i bought it from said he was at a red light and it just stopped,he thought it was a broken timing belt so this morn i removed the timing belt cover to find the timing belt tensioner was toast, bearings gone looked bad! After doing some research ive heard that if it was at idle the heads "might" be ok.Is there a way to check the valves without pulling the heads? If i just set timing and tried it could i hurt anything else?I know i still have to fish the bearings out of the oil pan too.Last thing i cant find a service manual for this car only for the 4 cyl 9-5.Any help sure would be great. Thanks!

FISH WHAT BEARING OUT OF WHAT OIL PAN, TIMING BELT DOES NOT RUN INTO OIL PAN, GET TIMING BELT REFITTED & THEN DO A CYLINDER BALANCE TEST ON EACH CYLINDER, U WILL NEED COMPRESSED AIR FOR THIS TEST & THE SPARK PLUG HOLE TOOL, NOTE USE THIS SITE TO FIND ENGINE TIMING SETUP INFO. GOOD LUCK
