My running light and front marker light on the driver’s side won’t work but the other side is fine. I'm trying to figure out where the problem could be. I still have license plate lights and turn signals and brake lights just no running lights on driver side only.

Hi,

I attached the wiring schematic below of the exterior lighting. Interestingly, all of the parking lamps and license plate lamps get power from the same place. Also, since the brake lamps and signal lamps work, it isn't a ground-related issue because they have a common ground with the brake lamps/signals.

So, either we have a bad socket, an open circuit at one of the splices, or a broken wire.

At the rear lamp, there will be a brown wire. Check that wire for power and let me know what you find. Also, and I'm embarrassed to ask, but make sure the dual-element bulbs aren't bad.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

The bulbs are good and I even replaced the circuit board but when I did that all the lights stopped working. So, returned it and I am using the one I had. Person who had truck before me painted truck, so all wires are purple now and wrapped with electric tape. I'm pretty sure when I looked under it I seen some corrosion going on like there might be a split in the wire but it didn’t look like a split just a little cut.

Hi,

Are you able to remove some of the paint to locate the one I mentioned? Also, which wire appears to be split? Can you tell where it is going?

Let me know.

Joe
