1995 Rover 4 Series car wont fire up

hi there we have changed the distributor cap cause my girlfriends dad through that was the problem and now we have change it over to a new one it still wont fire up so what else could we check or do to get it fixed as we need the car asap

replace the coil .. check for fuel and spark at cylinders ?
