Any good instructions on how to replace this bulb without having to remove the engine? Lol

Naser,
:
There are no directions in the manual. Also, there are a couple different designs. However, try this. If I recall, everything is held together with a T10 or T15 or there is one clip that holds the housing to the vehicle.

1) Gently push down on the mirror glass and the glass should unclip from the motor. There will be a wire attached to the glass mirror. Detach that.

2) The motor that moves the mirror is held on by three screws. Remove them and pull away the motor.

3) I believe there are 4 screws that hold on the fascia on the mirror. Remove them and the fascia.

4) I believe once that is off, there is either one or two screws that hold the outside assembly to the mount. Move the housing around to access the light assembly.

I attached two pics below that I found online. In pic 1 I circled the wiring connector. Pic 2 shows the light assembly. Let me know if this helps.

Also, turn the mirror all the way in and check to see if there is a clip as seen in pic 3. If there is (could be top or bottom) press in inward with a screwdriver and the entire housing should slide off. Pray this is the design. Also, the pic shows the assembly removed so you know what to look for. The light assembly will be in the mirror housing.

I should have started this with Step 1, Remove Engine and Transmission. LOL I know exactly what you mean. My favorite to work on is the Audi A8 with the 4.2.

Take care and I hope this helps.

That's plenty of help thanks. Yes, that's just ridiculous, all of that over a bulb. I know what you mean on the Audi a8. Had my shares if them, also the 2002 Audi v8, had to pull the motor out to replace a coolant hose.

Naser, when you are working on the light, I believe it is an LED which requires the entire light assembly. Confirm that. Also, the directions I gave you could be one or the other. For some reason, Mercedes doesn't like to provide too much info. LOL

A8. The oil cooler has a 4 inch plastic pipe between the engine and cooler. Step 1 was to remove engine. 24 hours labor. I did it in 9 and never pulled the engine. I did, however, develop a new vocabulary. LOL

Take care of yourself.

Naser, not sure what you meant by the last post. Did the directions help and were you able to remove the light?

Just laughed at your Audi comments, been there. Started the Benz bulb removal but got tied up with something else. Will keep you posted as soon as I get it replaced. Thanks for your continuous help.
