I replaced the timing belt and water pump on my car now when I go to crank the car cranks but won't turn over. I replaced the battery yesterday thinking that was it but it still won't turn over.

When you changed the timing belt did you turn the engine over at all when the old timing belt was off and before you put the new one on. Check out repair guides to help with information on the replacing the belt.

Hi,

I noticed you haven't been contacted for a couple of days. By chance, have you been able to make any progress? I'm interested in knowing.

Let me know and if I can help, let me know what is needed.

Take care,

Joe

Alexis,

If possible, record it cranking and upload it so we can hear what it is doing. It is possible that the timing could be slightly off.

If you are certain it is correct, take starting fluid and see if it starts. If it does and then stalls, we know there is a fuel-related issue. If there is absolutely no change, I need you to check for an ignition spark to the plugs.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Let us know. Also, if we could hear it cranking, we should be able to determine if there is a timing or compression issue.

Take care,

Joe
