I replaced all plugs, coils, injectors, crankshaft and cam sensors. It does not start. How to relearn crankshaft sensor so it will start? Has p1000 code.

Hi,

That is an odd code. P1000 indicated the readiness monitor testing has not been completed. This is done by the powertrain control module when codes have been cleared or even the battery was disconnected. Also, this shouldn't prevent it from starting.

Also, there is no relearn for the CKP on this vehicle. Some vehicles do have a relearn, but it requires the engine to be running first.

Now, since you have a no-start, I want you to try something. See if the engine starts for a couple of seconds and then stalls if you use starting fluid. If it does, then its fuel related. If there is no change, I suspect the spark plugs are not getting spark.

Here is a link to check for spark:

Also, let me know if you have a live data scan tool. If you do, see if there is an RPM signal when cranking the engine.

I will watch for your reply.

Joe

Joe. Yes, I did try starting fluid no luck, and it shows no RPMs while cranking engine over, it just won't fire.

If it does nothing with starting fluid, it's likely ignition related. Take a look below at the first recommendations from the manual. Let me know if these are things you have already done.

Also, I realize you replaced the crankshaft position sensor. Was the original one also not sending an RPM signal?

Take care,

Joe

Joe, yes, the original crankshaft sensor showed no RPMs. Today I got it to run on starting fluid. I have put a noid led on injectors and they are pausing. I bought aftermarket one. I'm going to clean old ones and reinstall I bet that I have more issues. Again Joe thank you for your knowledge it helped me to troubleshoot. Thank you

Hi,

Thank you for the update and you are very welcome. I'm glad to hear you found the issue. So, the original ones took care of the problem?

If you can, let me know.

Take care,

Joe
