Ive been trying to start my car for about 6hours now and even though the immobiliser light is steady my engine wont start. The radio and lights are both on so I know its not a battery problem. I haven't a clue how to fix this problem, does anyone?

Does the key open the car remotely? If not, what type of key is it? Does it have an infra-red light on the top next to the blade or is there only a button and nothing else on it?

It sounds like your key fob has lost synchronisation with the central locking system. Every scenic of this vintage has a manual override code BUT you can only get it from Renault and even then after some pleading. When you get the code you can synchronise the key with the same code. I would advise trying to get the code off renault if you can.
