Hi,

When I turn the igintion on into the second postion to enable the electric to the car, a strange knocking noise is heard coming from the passenger side compartment.

The noise is like something is trying to turn but cant, it happens about 6 times but then stops, and does not happen when the car is turning over or moving.

I have narrowed the noise down to a part that comes off the heater blower. See enclosed photos.

If someone could identify what that part does, if it is a critical part of the system, and how to fix or stop it (which can be done by just disconnecting the clip).

Many Thanks

Reece

Im not familiar with Renaults, but it looks/sounds like it is a blend door acuator. Older GM trucks had problems with them and they would do EXACTLY what you describe. The doors go to a set position when key is shut off, then when powered back up, it moves the door over, if the actuator is bad or if there is a problem with the blend door it will click/thump several times until the controller thinks it has moved it to the correct position. If you look closely there may be a part number on it, then you could Google it to see for sure
