Rear turn signals and emergency flasher

Hello, I have working front blinkers and flashers, but no turn signal or flashers in the back.
I do have brake lights, back up lights, etc.
But no turn signal or emergency flashers on rear only.
Any idea?

When you turn the signals on, do they flash double time? Have you checked bulbs and the light sockets?

Yes, when I turn the turn signal on, the light on the dash blinks on and off very quickly, and when my neighbor tried to see what it was he took the light unit off the back, and when he pulled the bulb out it went on then off of course when it was fully out, put the bulb halfway back in and it came on again, but then off when fully pushed into place.
He only checked the one drivers side because at that point he put the light unit back onto the car.

I have to be honest, that simply sounds like a bad light socket. It isn't making connection all the time.
