I noticed that the vehicle started to make some rattling noise from the engine and the engine light came on. I changed the spark plugs and it got better but it was still shaking. It is not performing on optimum power as it loses power when driving. The sound has changed as well when idling.

Hi,

Based on your description, the first thing that comes to mind is an internally loose catalytic converter. Try this. Take a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust system to see if you can reproduce the noise. Take a look through these links as well. The first one describes symptoms related to a failing converter and the second shows how to check.

Also, what model is the vehicle? I never heard of an AA. Additionally, if you could record the sound and upload it for me to hear, I may recognize it.

Let me know.

Joe

Good day JacobandNicolus,

Thank you for coming back to me. The name of the vehicle is a Ford Kuga. I chose AA on the system since it was not featured.

Thank you

Hi,

No problem. Let me know if you are able to recreate the sound via the exhaust. Also, if possible, record it and upload it for me to hear.

Take care,

Joe
