Rattle from back end heard when I roll over bumps

I have been living with this for a while, and now that the weather is moderate and the windows are open.I'm hearing and trying to fix again. Last Spring, I shook the muffler and it had a rattle in it, and had a rust hole in it and I replaced.

Still have the rattle, just not from the muffler which also used to rattle.

I pulled the right rear wheel of and when I tap on the emergency brake cable near where it enters the hub assembly, I hear the rattle that sounds like what I hear over bumps.

I pulled the hub off and there seems to be a little slack in the brake cable so the drum brake rattles around in there. I'm not POSITIVE that this is the problem, but it is my leading suspect.

On a forum, it stated that the car is prone to corrosion on the backing plate where it attaches to the emergency brake shoes (inner drum for emergency brake, outer brake pad style)
Do you have experience with this? Advice on how to fix?

Corrosion shouldn't cause a rattle. Have you tapped on the exhaust to see if you can duplicate the sound? It could be coming from the catalytic converter.

Yes, it used to rattle when I shook the muffler (by grabbing the exhaust tips at the rear of the muffler) it would rattle, so I replaced it. There is less rattle, but there is still a rattle. I'm not ruling out the cat' converter as a source.

Take a rubber mallet and tap on the converter to see if that is where the noise is coming from. Let me know what you find.

Tapped on the converter with a rubber mallet, and then grabbed the exhaust and shook in search of the rattle. No rattles from the exhaust or converter.
