Hello! The back seat of my wife's car is tearing, and I am looking to try to order one online for Christmas. It is the seat that is in two sections. Since it is hard to tell in pictures sometimes the color, I was wondering which code might tell me the color of the seats so I can look for that code during my search. Or is it something that would have to be figured out by my VIN number? I tried searching online with no luck. I have searched through local boneyards and can't find the exact color match, so I'm hoping one of the codes can help me with that. Thanks

Hi,

Ford Motor Company provides the trim code on the VIN sticker affixed either to the driver's side door or door pillar.

On the sticker, you will find the exterior color code along with the interior color.

I attached a pic below and circled the Int Tr. See if you are able to find that on your vehicle.

Let me know.

Joe

Yes thanks! Last two questions! First one, I am sure I know the answer but just want to double check 1. For that year, I see they have a solid top half and 1 that you can pull down. Does it matter for the back half of that, or will everything still line up and fit? I had a 02 that had the seat where it folded down. This one is solid, I'm sure it doesn't matter just making sure. Also, the last question. What year range can I look for through the Taurus to get the right seats? This is a 2001.

Hi,

Jason, I'm not sure about the model years. If you contact a salvage yard, they normally have the cross-references for that type of question.

As far as the type of seat, I don't see why it would be different. It should fit and mount. They don't change the structure of the framing to fit a specific style of seat, so that shouldn't be an issue.

If possible, could you let me know how things turn out for you? I'm interested in knowing.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Will do! I am watching car-part just trying to find a good seat and the right color. I did ask a salvage yard yesterday the years, and the gentleman did not know but basically said he thinks 01-07 should work. To me it sounds about right. The bodies look the same, I just hate to spend the money and end up with a seat that does not fit. I only need the bottom half so at the end of the day if the back fits, it's just a plus for me. I like the idea of the fold down. I got used to it with the last one I had lol. I will keep you updated! I am hoping to find one in the next week or 2. Trying to find a nice clean seat is not easy since all the yards I have picked through in the years, the first place extra parts go are on the seats, lol.

Good evening! So, I struggled to find a complete set-in good shape for Christmas. I did manage to get the bottom half from a 2005 that matched, so since that was all she needed, I just got that. Maybe in the future, if I can find a back piece in good shape, I will let you know. Did not want to leave you hanging.
