Auto gear cannot be engaged?

I have a Proton Savvy ( Renault Clio ) 2005 year model. When the auto gear is engaged the auto gear transmission lights come on and the auto gear cannot be engaged. At present it only runs on the manual gears.

Hello,

This is actually common issue with these transmission. The Clios (same as the Savvy) manufactured between November of 2005 and May of 2006, that this issue when the gearbox will malfunction and the gear box will switch to the manual mode, without any driver input.

This issue was due to a faulty control module for the transmission.
Renault had a service bulleting out for this issue and they fixed them under warranty.
Not sure if Proton in Malaysia did the same as I do not see any service bulletin from Proton.
