Well I just bought my Pontiac Sunfire and it was running excellant untill I went to autozone to buy a head light and when I was leaving my car would not start. What it would do is satr just fine and then die. I got a suggetion from this machanics shop next door and thay said it could be my ignition switch. Because in your ignition switch it sends one signal to start your car and another signal to keep it running. If some one could please tell what I need to buy to get it fixed and how to install it that would be awsome. Thank You

When the vehicle stalls, is the theft lite flashing? If it is, wait till the lite stops flashing, before attempting to restart.

Well I cant remember because is kep trying to start it for an hour. Dumb I know! Well I finnaly said screw it and used my aaa and got it towed to my grandmas mechanic. He tried to explain his teory but got losted whed he said "what happed was". Well he got it fixed and inded up puting a new VCU chip and ignition swich. I got it back and went to go to work and all the sudden at a stop light it jumping like it was going to peel of. Ever time it starts it rev to like 4500-5000 RPMs and now I have to practically put the brake pedal to the ground to stop. Now I tryed to WD40 my throttle but still nothing. Also as soon as I start it not even giving it gas it will still rev to 4500-5000 RPMS and then act like it was going to die and then rev right back up. If you or any one could help that would be appreceated. Thank you

P.S. Nobody ever buy a Sunfire ever!
