1998 Pontiac Sunfire

I have two questions about my 1998 Sunfire GT...

1) When I am driving and reach 115 km/h it sounds like my engine is at it's max and the Rpm needle is at 3000 is this normal?

2) When should I actually be shifting...I have been shifting between 2600 and 3000 rpm..

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I love my car but am very upset that it seems gutless in my opinion

this car engine is normal running at that speed and rpm, if you were running at 4500-6000 RPM, that would be high

normal shifting is OK from 2500-5000, any higher and you risk jack rabbeting or damage from over revs

hope this help

P.S. this car has no power anyway, good fuel miser and grocery cruiser, not a sports car
