Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Pontiac Sunbird 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 163k miles

I was curious to see if there where any ways to fix a Locked-up Engine, without being to pricey or completely junking the car. If there are little methods on ways to fix this, it would greatly be helpful.

Shortly before the Engine locked-up, it made a terrible clicking noise for about 5 seconds, made a loud thud, car stopped. I'm hoping it's nothing to terrible, of course knowing that it's a blown engine scares me.

Thank you.

There is no easy / cheap way to repair a blown engine. The cost of the repair will based on what actually caused the lockup. Keep in mind, you could have cracked the block which would make a rebuild not poss. If you are sure it is locked up, I would recommend looking for a good used engine from a salvage yard.

Let me know if you have other questions.
