My daughter said her car was stalling on occasion. I assumed it was probably just coming to a red light and if the RPMs dropped a little too much the engine stalled however that is not the case.

I drove it last night and while driving at about 30 the engine just died. I wasn't under load but the engine would not have been at idle either. I stepped on the gas and there was nothing. The check engine light was on but don't know whether it came on before or after the engine quit. If it was after than it would be just like when you first turn on the ignition it lights just to verify it works. There is no code stored. It would not start immediately after it quit, but after waiting two or three minutes if fired right up and I drove it away. I only had a few blocks to drive so not sure how soon it would have quit again.

There was no warning that it was going to quit. No surging or pinging or any other problems, just died.

Would appreciate any ideas of what I could check first.

Thank you

I think it is the fuel filter. We just changed it and will see in a few days if that fixes the problem.

Thanks for the reply
