Electrical problem
1988 Pontiac Sunbird 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have had 7-8 modules in this car in just 7 years! Yesterday it died again on the road, then restarted and started smoking, couldnt trace the cause, I recently rebuilt everything from the block up. Any ideas. It has had a bad miss from even before I put a new distributor and head on it.
thanks

Hi and thanks for getting back so soon.
The smoke which was fairly white(sounds like water), mostly had stopped by the time I limped it back to work. I did find no. 1 plug was in bad shape-kinda crumbly near the electrode.

I suspect a headgasket failure the stuff on # 1 plug is probably antifreeze.
