2000 Pontiac Montana why wont my van start?

I changed my fuel filter and now my van wont start unless I turn the key in the on position about 7 or 8 times, then it will start and then stops right after it starts.

Do you hear the fuel pump come On for a few secs when you turn key to run position-If so check the fuel pressure with a gauge if its within specs. If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay.

Now my van wont start unless I turn the key in the on position about 7 or 8 times, could very well be the ignition switch
