Electrical problem
2000 Pontiac Montana V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles

hello,

I just replaced the water pump my self. And im not that good with my hands but I did it :)
put it all back together went to start it and it wont turn over. The instrument panel come up like you said chimes ect but it wont turn over, when I stop trying to crank it over the security light does come on, also I get nothing from the radio it ejects the CD light up but it wont play anything, I do have the compustar system in it. Im really thing it is something with the security, it is almost midnight and I have been hitting my head for 3h.

also when I remove the key after the security light cam on some of the dash lights stayed on for about 3 seconds then turned off. I hear the fuel pump priming and get all the noises but I don't know what to do it is dead in my father in law's garage.
any thoughts would be great! :)
thanks
matt

Check your battery connections. Try to reset the security.
Put key in ignition and turn to run (engine off)
When security light turns off, turn ignition off, wait 10 seconds. Repeat steps 1 and 2. 2 more times.

Hello,
the battery is fine and new, I get full power to everything, just when I go to crank the engine nothing happens.
There is a slight buzzing sound from the insutment panel then the security message comes up on the dash.

I know I lost my radio because thedisplay did not light up and I didn not take the code down, teh radio wont turn on but thatis the least of my problems.

When I get home I will try tht reset thing.
