unable to remove ignition key

2001 pontiac grand prix 3.8 ltr. 60,000 miles

Ignition key is stuck in ignition.. Will not rotate back to off position so key can be removed.
Key moves forward and car starts fine, just can't remove key...
Any advice appreciated...

if you sifter is on the floor check that the button that you press that let you shift from park to drive is not stuck in the in possition if so it will not allow you to remove you key

I am having the same problem, along with some others.

I have not found a permanent solution, but if you look under the steering column directly below where the key is you'll see a little plastic cap. Pop out the cap with a small screw driver, then take a drinking straw and push it into the whole while you tun your key back.

I wish I could find a proper fix for this, but this is what I am doing for now.
