Little help here.I beleive I have a block heater on my grand prix there is a power cord tied to the frame bar under the hood. Is this a cord for a block heater. And if it is, is there a period of time it should be plugged in and is there a period that is too long

Follow the wiring, see where it goes. If it is a block heater, you use it in extremely cold regions, so hopefully your engine fluids won't freeze. You just use it overnight. Different type heaters may work better for some vehicle systems, but, basically used to ward off the cold.

I realize this is an old post. In the future, hope you don't have any vehicle issues, but, if you do, keep the site in mind. They are always working to improve the site and it's free.

Have a good day.
