The A/C on my GrandPrix only works on high, when you the fan control nob to a lower setting the blower stops working and the A/C light on the control panel goes out. Also the Daytime running lights or Auto Headlights turn off...

I've owned three GTPs and a GT (latest year 02) and they have all had a similar issue with the Ac only running on high.
In all four cases, the culprit was the ignition switch which is a wiring harness assembly in the steering column along with the blower motor resistors although I never saw the bad resistors.
I don't recall if this affected the headlights or not.
I had a dealer repair the cars but if you're so inclined, there are online instructions with very good photograghs at:
http://www.sparkys-answers.com/2009/09/2002-pontiac-grand-prix-changing.html although these are for an 02 model

Hope this helps
