I just had to have the engine replaced in my car. I am 99% certain the air conditioning was working prior to it going into the shop. I just got the car back and it appears that the air conditioning is no longer working...it is blowing air, but it seems to just be the air from outside. In fact, it is actually cooler outside than it is in my car with the air on. Could something have happened or been missed when the engine was being replaced that would be causing the air to not work?

Thanks

may have knicked a line and caused it to leak or they took out the refr so when they could pull out compressor to change engine without having to mess with the liens on the compressor and install the compressor afterwards. probably a honest mistake?

I had the same problem when I replaced my transmission, and was figuring I would have to replace the compressor. I was working near my airbox and noticed an empty connector on the A/C line next to my airbox, connected to the dryer. Sure enough, I also found a loose connector that I disconnected as it is in the same bundle as the starter wiring. Worked fine after reconnected. There are other possible causes but this was mine.
