I just purchased this vehicle less than a week ago and on the 4th day I went out to drive it after shoveling out of a crippling snowstorm. When I went to drive it it was like the power steering just didn't work at all. It seems to turn a little easier if you are giving it gas, but at the same time it is very difficult to turn either way. Any suggestions? I did drop it off at the dealership where I purchased it. I did purchase it as is with no warranty but I seriously hope they don't expect me to have to pay anything for the repair.

Start by checking fluid level in PS pump. Next belt tension. Then check for leaks at pressure, return lines and at steering rack.

The dealer SHOULD repair at no cost, but car was sold "as is" unless there is a written warranty.
