The car makes a sound that sounds like the tire is rubbing on something, but there is no sign of such on the tires. The noise changes pitch as the speed of the vehicle changes not the engine. I jacked the car up and the noise wasn't there. Both front tires spun and I spun the rear wheels as fast as I could by hand. From inside the car, the sound is loudest in the front passenger seat. If my 79 camaro was making the sound, I would think it was a wheel bearing. If I had to guess, I would say the rear of the transmission.

Raise car, put on stands. Grasp tire and push/pull both horizontally and vertically, if any movement then possible wheel bearing, ball joint, tie rod, control arm bushing.

Check CV boots for any signs of leakage or cuts/rips in rubber boot.
