I have diagnosed the problem indicated by my "Service Engine Soon" light coming on thru the auto parts store - purchasing Mass Air Flow cleaner...do that and having the code cleared and now the light is back on...does this mean a bad sensor? And what does it do, exactly...what kind of damage can be done it I do not correct it soon...?

thanks,

Bill

Normally when you retrieve a MAF sensor trouble code, the sensor itself is NOT at fault. It is actually just dirty passageways that the air flows through before and after the MAF sensor that confuses the vehicle's computer into thinking the MAF sensor itself is bad. This issue will cause poor fuel mileage and you may also experience slight missing in the engine at times.
