Last year my air conditioning stopped working. I had a friend fill it for me and it was moderately cold for a few days then stopped working again.

I was curious to if this sounds like a simple hose leak? Or could this be eluding to a more expensive problem? And also, any estimate on the cost range? Thanks

Also one more quick question you might be able to help me with. The "face plate" that covers the door side window buttons broke and won't clip in place anymore. Does this part have a specific name, couldn't find it with a google. And is the junkyard the best place to find one. Or is there somewhere on-line that sells new/used interior aesthetic parts. Thanks alot

A/c leak could be many possibilities. Assuming it is a leak. There is dye that can be injected to help find it. There are freon sniffers that can detect a leak. Best bet is to take it to a professional shop and have them diagnose it.

On the mystery part, try a junkyard or call the dealer and get an exploded view to narrow down the part. Don't be surprised if the dealer cost is less than a scrapyard. But you know.
