My grand prix is a 3.8 lt. gt.. I have owned the car for about a year, the first problem was teh alternator, easy fix.. but a few months ago i had been driving, and it drove fine, no slips, no nothing, drove almost like new. but as i was driving it just quit accelerating, and slowed to a stop! hasn't run since. occasionally i start it up to make sure the battery doesn't go dead etc... i'll put it in drive and it will sometimes drive, but the acceleration is horrible, and the steering wheel has no power steering...

First thing you need to do is have the codes read, Autozone does it free, Post the results with the code number(s). Even if the service engine light is not on, there should be freeze frame data stored.
If it won't make it to Autozone, buy a cheap scanner, they can be had for 30-40 dollars, a good investment, since they cover all cars sold in the USA from 96 on...Check serp belt, and check the converter, could be clogged, choking the engine off.
