Smells problem
1999 Pontiac Grand Prix Automatic 141500 miles

started car and it starting reving from 0 to 2, sputtering like it wanted to stall, Trying to back up the car it felt like it was gonna stall, so I push on the gas to try and get it to stop and it does stall leaving my battery light, service engine soon and a few other lights on. When you get out of the car it smells funny. There was NO weird smoke that I noticed, just smelled funny. It has a new battery 1 month old and a new oil change last week.

I'm not really sure what the problem could be but as for the funny smell, there was a recall on the 99 Grand Prix recently for a potential fire hazzard being created by deposited oil on the exhaust manifold. Did you get a notice from your dealer about that? It only effects the 3.8l v6 engines.
