1997 Pontiac Grand Prix wont start or stalls out

I have a grand prix gt it has a hard time starting and when its running it will stall out. you can here the fuel pump running I changed the fuel filter. after the car runs for a bit and going down the road it stalls out you put it in to nutrual and it starts right up. I dos not trip the engine light so I cant put it on a scaner.
