My Pontiac Grand Prix has an oil leak that requires me to fill up the oil once a week. The oil change guys put a sealant in it which actually made it worse. They said it was the oil pan gasket. A nearby mechanic said that it was unlikely that it would be an oil pan gasket and wanted to charge me $600 to fix it, which is beyond my means at the moment.

Is this an "easy" fix, or am I going to have to bite the bullet?

Thank you for your help and God bless.

Have to clean engine and check where is leaking from
600 is a bit much for an oil pan gasket
get another opinion
also have them check rear top engine by the tranny
for leak and if so suspect oil pump drive gasket
good luck
