how would i pull codes without a code puller by turning key back and forth?

that won't do anything. You have to take a piece of wire and jump out terminals a and b on the aldl connector under the driver's side dash, then turn on the key and count the flashes. It will start by flashing code 12. First, this will be one long and 2 short flashes, after it flashes code 12 three times it will then flash the next code and next code and when no more codes are stored it will flash the code 12 again.
