wont start

car will not start, fule pump does not come on when igntion switch is turned, after about 3 times it will start and sometimes it cuts off while i'm driving, it just goes dead just put a new fuel pump in it it has 132000 miles 6cy 2002 grand am se1.

when the car will not start, check for fuel pressure at fuel rail if that is good then the pump is functioning properly and you should then check for spark. If you have low or no fuel pressure check for voltage at fuel pump, if you have none then check the relay and switch. If you have voltage but no fuel pressure makesure the connector is tight on the pump, or that the pump is good.
