I have a '99 Pontiac Grand Am. The car is losing antifreeze. I have to fill it up every two days. I had a hose that burst. I fixed it and then two days later I filled it up with antifreeze. The tempature has gotten hot but that is because I don't have anymore fluid in my car. Some people have said it could be a head gasket or head or it could be a water pump? I just don't know what it could be?

Best way is to have the cooling system pressure tested, which will isolate the cause.
If the engine overheated, there is at least a chance a head(s) is warped.
If you are losing that much coolant, I would expect a large puddle under the car overnight?
What engine?

if it is a head or head gasket problem, where antifreeze is in the engine because of this, start the vehicle, let it idle, look at the tail pipe, if it has white smoke, then that means it could be this problem, but if you are losing that much, next thing would be to look at the water pump leaks through the weep hole, no signs of water there, take the belt off to the water pump and do a wiggle test on the pulley, if it wobbles, then you need a new pump, if that dont work, it may be the thermostat is not opening correctly and it is under back pressure and steaming out.
