My car starts but anything on the dash board such as spedometer, gas gauge, heat gauge needles will not move. My mechanic mentioned it was not the fuses but the body control module that I have to take to the dealer. Any suggestions?

If BCM is malfunctioning it should set a "B" error code, which your mechanic should be able to read with the proper scanner.

I would check all fuses first before replacing the BCM.
