Does the motor crank at all?
if it only makes a whinnig nosie when you turn the key, that is the starter motor turning, but it is not coming in contact with the fly wheel to turn the engine. the problem is the starter solanoid, located on top the starter, it costs around $15-35 from auto-zone or checker, easy to replace if you can get to it...
also check starter bolts make sure they are tight, they might have come loose, giving you the sam e symtoms...
