Earlier today while driving from work, I turned the heater on and it did not warm up at all. I turned it off thinking that it would warm up if I turned it back on , but, failed to do so. After a while, the windows started to fog up. I turned the heater on again trying to defrost the windows, but, once again did not warm up. I then saw smoke coming from the inside of the dashboard. It had a funny type of smell to it. I believe I also heard something that sounded like something was sizzlin from up under the hood. Could you please let me know what the problem is and if it is expensive to be repaired?

sounds like your low on coolant and your heater core is leaking. the fog or smoke is actually antifreeze leaking in the heater box from the heater core. it is about $250 job to replace, approx. hope this helps
