3 wires behind the switch? One should be ground, 1 should be power (only to turn on thelighted switch, the other wire goes to the BCM (Body Control Module)to tell it to turn them on.If you jumped one ground straight to the signal wire and they came on, you may just have a bad switch.Do you have a meter to test for continuity to ground on the one wire and power on the other? If ground is good, and the one wire has power, the other should ground when switch is turned on, if not the switch is bad

Did you test for ground like I suggested? If you applied power to the BCM you may have damaged it.Try swapping that relay for another one just to see if it will work

The black wire with the white tracer is the ground wire.Use a meter to check continuity to ground.(set on ohms and put one end on good ground other probe the wire)When you tun on the fog lamp switch it connects the ground to the orange wire which is the signal to the BCM to turn on the relay

Here is the wiring diagram for the fog lights. The orange wire is signal out to the BCM (Ground) to turn the lights on.The Dark Green and white wire at the relay is the trigger to turn on the lights from the BCM, it should turn to ground when the switch is on.If not you need to test the orange wire for ground with switch on to see if the wire is good. The purple wire at relay goes hot when relay is on the other two wires at the relay should have power

If the orange doesnt go ground, the blk/white wire at switch may have a bad connection to ground. If orange goes ground with switch on, test the dark green/white wire at the relay to see if it is grounded.

ok i have to take the relay out to check that green and white wire correct and if that does not show a good ground does that mean the bcm could be bad?

If the orange wire is grounding too.It is the signal to tell the BCM to turn the relay on.To be absloutlety sure you will need to locate the BCM to verify the orange wire is good to it

If the BCM tells the relay to turn on, the Dark green/white wire will become ground

You could by pass the BCM by connecting the orange and the dark green/white wire together at the BCM connector. That should work but I dont know if it will set any body codes from being bypassed

No, both of those wires are supposed to be grounded when you turn on the switch. The relay needs a ground (Dk green/white) to activate the relay. The key is that the green wire at the relay grounds..OF the other 3 wires at the relay 2 are power in and the other is power out to the lights and the indicator on the swicth.

Clean them up,a bad connection can cause it not to work, especially a ground.

Is there a special cleaner for that since the pins are so small and i dont want to damage it?? there has to be something I can use to spray does radio shack have contact cleaner for sensitive parts also if that does not work can i change the connector ????? if that does not work ? means there is a bad ground somewhere???????????????? I even opened up the bcm lol too see if there was any corrosion in there there was a little it was like greenish in color

They may have a contact cleaner that would work. If you are positive you have the correect dk green wire that is the relay trigger, you could try cutting it and grounding the end that goes to the relay to see if it will turn the lights on.You can always use a crimp connector to splice it back together. It isnt like a sensor wire or anything sensetive, so it shouldnt hurt anything

By grounding the green/white wire to the relay you are simulating the BCM turning it on.If they work that way, you know that wire not grounding is the problem. This is diagnosing, not fixing yet

yes, ground the end that goes to the relay and you can tape the other end (BCM end)so it doesnt touch anything.it should click the ligths on right when you ground it, you dont need it to even be running, just key on.
