I have a 2001 Grand AM GT with a 3.4L engine, 79000 miles and a Monsoon sound system.

I just recently bought this car from someone and the Radio display light is dark. If sunlight is on the display, information can be read, but this is the only time. I was wondering if this can be fixed by either switching out a fuse, replacing the bulb (if it can be replaced), or if I need to get a new radio altogether.

If it is a digital read out, you will most likely need a new stereo. If regular, you might be able to have it fixed, but at that point another stereo might be about the same price if the stereo has to be taken apart

I also just bought a used car and you could not see the display on the stereo, unless in sunlight. I took the face of the stereo off and noticed the bulb was blown.

You might want to check out ebay motors. They have those radio's all the time.
