my 2000 Pontiac Grand Am ABS and Trac off lights keep turning on and the low trac light comes on and off no matter the surface. Now, I have sense enough to know a scan of the computer is the only way to pinpoint the problem, but do you have any expert opinions about what could be going on. And is my brake system malfunctioning or is it a wheel sensor problem, tranmission, etc.

One of the most common problems is the wheel sensor. It works loose or locking tang breaks, water gets into electrical connections.

But you are right, you would have to scan the system with a chassis scanner, looking for "C" codes.
