2000 Pontiac Grand am just quits running as you drive down the road for no apparent reason

When it dies does it restart right away or do you have to wait for it to start?Also go to a auto parts store like auto zone and have them read your code's if you have any code's bring me back the number's.Let me know what you find.

i have a 91 grand am and it is doing the same thing! but i have to wait almost 20 mins before it'll stay started. the auto zone people said it was the IAC control valve but i am not sure i replaced it right because the idle still is weird. and the check engine light stayed on
