Do you have any power assist? If not, there is a steering speed sensor (which adjust the amount of PS assist you get) in the steering column. You will need to have that checked by a dealer. Also, if that isn't the problem, have the rack itself tested.

How do I find out if I have power assit? I was told about that sensor before, because the steering wasn't locking when the key was out?
THANKS ALOT! Pete

Hi:
If you have power steering, you have it. However, it wouldn't have anything to do with the steering locking.
